So as those of you in the metro area know, there is slickery black shiny stuff on the ground its frickin' freezin' outside! Well I decided to go and check my car this morning, to see just how much ice I would going to have to scrape off with my debit card, and found myself extrememly thankful for the wintery tips of my beloved Aunt Bev and Uncle Eric who know a think or two about Arctic temperautres. For those of you who don't know my Aunti Beave married a hunky Norwegian 10 years ago and moved to Norway 7 years ago. They live in
Tromso Norway, one of the Northermost cities in the world and it gets a little cold up there north of the Arctic Circle! Just a wee bit!

Well, Bev's favorite Norwegian saying, translated into English, says, "There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes!" Amen sister! You know so many of us are worried about looking stylish and scratching the warmth factor. NOT ME (at least not today!) I pulled out my Norwegian Handmade pink wool hat, my matching Norwegian fingerless gloves that turn into mittens, my fleece scarf, fleece pants, wool coat and slippers and headed out the door. I WAS NOT COLD! Can you believe it? When you wear things that are made to keep you warm, regardless of how dorky you look, THEY KEEP YOU WARM! Go figure right? Something I learned while in Norway, just a little tidbit to my Oklahoma Friends, jeans don't keep you warm at all!!! Wear some fleece pants! Seriously! It is amazing the difference it makes! Oh and another fun tidbit, in the local Tromso newspaper they have a column where people can write in and give their suggestions on matters. One topic was about never being able to keep your feet warm in the winter. Ladies and Gentlemen, I know this may sound odd, but if I'm lyin' I'm dyin', if you put something on your head, your feet warm up! NO LIE! I slept with a stocking cap on many nights and it changes everything about your body temp, including how cold your feet are! So throw fashion to the wind and welcome the warmth everyone!
Love You All!
